About Shaw’s Corner

Shaw’s Corner was the home of world famous playwright and political activist George Bernard Shaw for over forty years until his death in 1950. Now, it is the only National Trust property open to the public in Hertfordshire, with staff and volunteers who work hard to ensure that the house is a living shrine to the life and works of GBS as well as making sure that all of our thousands of visitors have the most enjoyable visit to our lovely house and gardens.

This blog will take you behind the scenes at Shaw’s Corner, exploring what we get up when the house is closed and the backstage work that is required to keep the show on the road!
